Abstract

In this study with Year 12 students, I noticed that pupils struggled to substantiate both their oral and written contributions in lessons. As such, in order to scaffold pupils’ learning, I created a resource (’Evidence Sheets’) to be used in oral and written contexts. The study indicates the complex
manner in which use of the sheets orally, through group discussions, aid the pupils in their written work.
